The addition to St. Marks Coffee was designed as a backdrop to the artwork and functions that will go on in front of it. The roof and back wall are oriented toward the existing building while the east west walls are skewed to angle them away from afternoon sun. Translucent panels act as walls and clearstory to illuminate the interior, reducing the need for artificial light during the day.
