| This duplex was designed for a transitional neighborhood. Not transitioning from poor to rich but from old to new. The light stucco color at the front carries the scale of the neighboring houses across the front elevation while the darker 3rd floor breaks down the mass of the building. The duplex is a front back duplex providing a variety of different experiences for the inhabitants. The result of this strategy is that the building looks like one house from the front. This also provided for an ample 3rd floor room that fits under the height restriction of the zoning code. |
